A 23 year old woman who lives in a secure complex near Noorsekloof Road in Wavecrest was raped in the early hours of the morning of 31st March by an intruder who gained access to her unit.

The incident occurred around 4 am after the suspect first gained access to another unit in the same complex and stole cash, a cell phone and cigarettes without waking up the occupants.

The suspect, then broke into the young woman’s flat and assaulted her and threatened her with a knife before taking her bank card and leaving her tied up and gagged. The woman, who is highly traumatized could only describe the rapist as being of slender build and he spoke Afrikaans.
